Life in Lilac Class
The children in Year 3 have made a wonderful start to Key Stage Two. We are very proud of how well they have settled in and got used to new routines.
We had great fun finishing the term with a Circus Workshop. The children thoroughly enjoyed spinning plates and practising diablo!
In English, we have enjoyed reading The Show Must Go On and writing newspaper reports imagining some animals had escaped from the circus due to bad treatment.
In music, we have enjoyed beginning to learn to play the djembe drum. We are looking forward to learning new rhythms and tunes as the year progresses. We hope to welcome you to a concert later in the year.
We have also debated whether animals should be allowed in circuses. The children produced some strong arguments for both sides!
Science has involved investigating forces and magnets. We have discovered that not all metals are magnetic and we have designed a circus act with a bike travelling down a very fast ramp!
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Trowbridge Library and it was lovely to see so many children with library cards. We hope lots of you pay another visit over the half term holiday to take part in some autumn activities.
Thank you to everyone who came to our Harvest Festival service at St John’s Church. We are sure you will agree that the children spoke with confidence and enthusiasm. We are very proud of how brave they were to stand up in front of so many people!
