Year 6
Hazel and Walnut

What another exciting and memorable term it has been for our Year 6 children! One particular highlight was the Junior Good Citizens event, which proved to be both informative and inspiring. The children participated enthusiastically in a range of realistic scenarios, learning valuable life skills and gaining a deeper understanding of personal safety, responsibility and community awareness. We all came away having learned something new, with our eyes opened a little wider to the world around us. We were immensely proud of the way The Grove children conducted themselves throughout the day, demonstrating maturity, respect and exemplary behaviour at all times.
The Year 6 production was a timely and poignant tribute to Sir David Attenborough and was a tremendous success. Every child involved embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, dedication and energy, working tirelessly to bring the performance to life. Under the guidance and support of the Year 6 team, the children have developed their confidence, teamwork and performance skills, creating a show that they can all be incredibly proud of.
For many pupils, Bikeability has been both an enjoyable and rewarding experience. While it has certainly been physically demanding at times, the children have gained valuable cycling skills, increased confidence on the road, and a greater understanding of how to stay safe while travelling independently.
As we come to the end of this important chapter in the lives of our wonderful Year 6 children, the entire Year 6 team would like to express our sincere thanks for your continued support throughout what can be a very demanding, yet incredibly rewarding, year. Over the past six terms, the children have achieved so much. This has not only been a year of significant academic progress, but also one of personal, emotional, social, and physical growth – underpinned by our Spark programme. Our graduation ceremony was a first at The Grove! The children have faced challenges with resilience, celebrated successes with humility and developed into thoughtful, responsible and confident young people.
It has been a privilege to watch them grow and flourish, and we are incredibly proud of everything they have accomplished. As they prepare to take their next steps into secondary school, we wish each and every one of them happiness, success and exciting opportunities for the future. We know they will continue to shine and make us proud.
