Year 5 - Willow Class

Can you believe it? It is the end of Term 1 already – and what a term it has been! It has been brilliant to welcome the children back into school after the summer break. Everyone has worked really hard this term and have set themselves some super targets to achieve throughout this year.

Our topic about the Vikings and Anglo Saxons has been all-encompassing and has provided us with numerous learning opportunities and interesting facts. Early in the term, we enjoyed our visit to Trowbridge Museum, where we found out about Anglo Saxon life. This included workshops to discover more about their hierarchy, food and clothing, learning about the role of the warriors and taking our turn on the weaving loom.

From the first week, the children have been developing a range of skills. From teamwork and creativity to developing their writing skills by writing some very sophisticated diaries and action packed stories all about the Vikings- they have thoroughly impressed us with their progress and overall enthusiasm!

We would like to pass a message on to the Year 5 children: Thank you for all of hard work, dedication and team work this term. You have all been brilliant!
