Life in Alder Class

This term has been a turbulent time for Year 3, with a bubble closure and staff absence! Despite this, we are all very proud of the way the children have conducted themselves. Our whole school focus this term has been all about our school values of LEARN (Lead, Endeavour, Aspire, Respect and Nurture), and Year 3 have demonstrated these in abundance! They have shown great initiative and taken the lead in class, work standards have continued to be high and, when it has been necessary, they have endeavoured to complete their home learning. They have shown positive attitudes and complete respect to the different members of staff that they have worked with.

Amongst all of this, let’s not forget that Year 3 have had a fantastic time undertaking their ‘Get Set, Go!’ topic. They have learnt all about balanced diets, the importance of exercise and sleep, and the impact of this on our bodies. They have also been learning about the impact of our food choices on the environment and have created leaflets to persuade people to eat locally produced food and reduce their intake of meat.

We are very proud of their passion for this topic, and we hope that they have been sharing facts about living healthy and sustainable lifestyles, at home with you!
