Life in Hazel Class

The Year 6 topic on deforestation gave rise to some great discussions about environmental issues affecting us all and many questions were asked concerning the morality of those who have the power to do something about these issues. The children were very animated and interested and threw themselves wholeheartedly into the work.

Great fun and games were had by all during the World Book Day as children were treated to story-telling by teachers from throughout the school, chilling out in pyjamas whilst enjoying a hot chocolate.

Science week saw the Year 6 children investigating temperatures in different parts of the playground over the course of the week. Children were able to collect layers of data and analyse them.

The school’s number 1 programme enabled the children to think carefully about the ‘Power of Words’ and how to phrase comments in a positive way to avoid offence and upset.
