Starting School
Parents who wish their child to come to Grove should apply directly
to the L.A. through their admissions Team at County Hall. In order
to track prospective Grove pupils we ask that you also put your
child's name down with us. This can be done at the School Office
at most times during the school day. Parents are welcome to visit
the school before their child's admission to look around and to
meet the Headteacher.
In the Summer term before your child starts at Grove, you will be sent details of our 'Induction Programme'. The details will vary from year to year but will be designed to help your son or daughter make the difficult change from home to school life.
You will be able to stay with your child until he or she feels safe and comfortable in the new surroundings. Your child will have the opportunity to become familiar with the school, the teachers and his/her new classmates.
There will also be opportunities for you to meet the Head and your child's teacher to discuss matters of interest.
You will be given an 'Admission' form that requests information concerning the addresses and telephone numbers where you can be contacted in an emergency. The form asks for your doctor's name and address and any information concerning your child's health that you feel is relevant to school.
