Coming to Grove

Grove Primary School is a Community School for boys and girls between the ages of four and eleven years. It was built in 1969 and has 11 classrooms in the main school with 3 mobile classrooms. It serves primarily the 'College Ward' community, although our children come from all over Trowbridge and beyond.

Children are usually admitted at the beginning of the academic year in which their 5th birthday occurs. For the first few weeks' children attend for mornings only to ease the transition from home to the routine of school life. Children whose birthdays fall between 1st April and 31st August will attend mornings only for the first term. Children leave at the end of the school year in which their eleventh birthday falls and transfer to secondary education in the September. Details of these schools and arrangements for transfer are sent to parents during the final year.

All admissions to Grove are administered through the Education Department at County Hall. Admission forms have to be returned to them in accordance with very strict deadlines. Failure to do this may result in a place not being offered to your child.
